Hi, I’m Hasan. I teach IB Mathematics in Japan and create BetterMath for students learning AA HL and teachers teaching it.
After more than a decade in classrooms across six countries, I’ve learned that a small change in an explanation can make a big difference. A clearer diagram. A missing step. An example that helps an idea click.
BetterMath grows from those moments.
I write and refine these resources for my own lessons, then share them freely. My aim is to help students understand the mathematics, see how ideas connect, and build confidence in solving problems.
Students’ questions shape the explanations. Readers’ feedback helps improve them. If you find something unclear or incorrect, I’d love to hear from you.

My background
I hold an M.Sc. in Particle Physics from the University of Jyväskylä, Finland, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education.
I have been an IB examiner since 2018, contributed to national curriculum development, and participated in teacher development programmes with CERN, ESA, and Wolfram.
Each experience has added something to my teaching: a different perspective, a useful connection, or a better way to explain an idea.
